Introducing myself…

I am 25 years of age. I was born in 1796 in Boston, Massachusetts.

My mother Rose died 7 years ago of the smallpox.
My father Andrew works and lives in Boston as a shipping merchant.
My brother John studies at the new Yale Medical School in New Haven. He is two years older than me.
I lost a brother in 1816, William. He was 8.

I live near Charlottesville, Virginia with my aunt Emeline and her husband George, a tobacco plantation owner.
I live in their manor house. It has several dependencies and slave quarters.
Cooks cook all day, servants serve all day.
I do not work nor do I have to. I am supposed to be like Emeline by now. Married and socially busy.

I am not.

This is my journal.
